The Alameda Backyard Chickens Yahoo Group email list is intended for city of Alameda residents or those very close by.  Some common topics are very local (e.g. coordinating food runs and the Alameda Chicken Coop tour).

The Alameda Backyard Chickens Facebook page is similar in scope.

There is also an East Bay Backyard Chickens Google group that that serves a larger geographical area: Alameda and Contra Costa county.
